Fire Detection Systems

Domestic

The new law in Scotland requires all homes (owned or rented) to have interlinked Smoke and Heat alarms installed by February 2022. Where there is a carbon-fuelled appliance (such as boilers, fires and heaters) or a flue, then a Carbon Monoxide alarm is also required.

Commercial

Fire alarm systems are to be installed in commercial premises to give occupants the earliest warning possible of a fire situation. Whilst commercial alarm systems fall under several categories (M, L1-L5, P1-P2) and can be installed in either a conventional or addressable configuration they must all be certified in the same way: Design, Install and Commission.

Once installed these alarms require annual maintenance to ensure their efficiency and effectiveness in the event of a fire situation.
