Fire Door Compliance
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005, the responsible person for a building must ensure that fire doors are correctly installed and maintained. This includes regular inspections to check that doors close properly, seals are intact, and all components are functioning correctly.
The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 introduced additional requirements for residential buildings over 11 metres, including quarterly checks of fire doors in communal areas and annual checks of flat entrance doors.
