Legal Requirement

Fire Safety Risk Assessments

Professional Fire Safety Risk Assessments carried out by qualified assessors. A legal requirement for all non-domestic premises and rented accommodation.

What is a Fire Safety Risk Assessment?

A Fire Safety Risk Assessment (FSRA) is a systematic evaluation of your premises to identify fire hazards, assess the risks to people, and determine what fire safety measures are needed to protect occupants and property.

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (England & Wales) and the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005, the ‘responsible person’ for any non-domestic premises must carry out and regularly review a fire risk assessment. Our qualified assessors will conduct a thorough survey of your premises and provide a comprehensive report with actionable recommendations.

When Should You Review Your Assessment?

Fire risk assessments must be kept under regular review to remain valid. You should review your assessment:

  • At least annually as a matter of good practice
  • When there are significant changes to the premises or layout
  • When processes, materials or equipment change
  • Following a fire or near-miss incident
  • When there are changes to occupancy or use of the building
  • When new legislation or guidance is introduced

We offer review services to update existing assessments and ensure your premises remain compliant.
